​Communication Study

My academic background in Communication has equipped me with a diverse set of skills in analyzing media, exploring human behavior, and examining the impact of technology on society. This section features a collection of my research papers, essays, and projects from my undergraduate studies. Through these works, I have investigated topics ranging from media effects, video game character representation, and social identity, to the influence of digital communication on group dynamics and public opinion.

 Media & Citizenship

 2023  

These essays from my Media and Citizenship course explore the objectification and sexualization of women in both advertising and film. They analyze how these media portrayals reinforce harmful stereotypes and diminish women's roles as active and equal citizens in society.

Social Implications of Media Technology

 2024  

These two essays from my Social Implications of Media Technology course examine different aspects of computer-mediated communication (CMC). One analyzes the hyperpersonal communication model, exploring how online interactions can foster intimacy but also lead to deception. Another one discusses parental mediation strategies, reflecting on the ways parents regulate children’s media use to mitigate exposure to inappropriate content and develop critical media literacy.

This is from my Social Media course examine key dynamics in online communication.This portfolio showcases a well-rounded public health campaign, combining strategic planning, social media engagement, and educational content to tackle the issue of prescription drug abuse.

By shedding light on the common gender biases in media, this project aims to encourage critical reflection on the portrayal of women and calls for the media industry to take responsibility in creating fair and respectful representations of women.
