Communication Study

Media & Citizenship

These essays from my Media and Citizenship course explore the objectification and sexualization of women in both advertising and film. They analyze how these media portrayals reinforce harmful stereotypes and diminish women's roles as active and equal citizens in society.
Social Implications of Media Technology
2024
These two essays from my Social Implications of Media Technology course examine different aspects of computer-mediated communication (CMC). One analyzes the hyperpersonal communication model, exploring how online interactions can foster intimacy but also lead to deception. Another one discusses parental mediation strategies, reflecting on the ways parents regulate children’s media use to mitigate exposure to inappropriate content and develop critical media literacy.
